Beginner Bicycle Maintenance & Repair
Learn the basics including identifying critical bicycle parts and tools and how to use them. Learn flat tire repair, chain and cable maintenance, and how to fix broken chains. BYOB (bring your own bike). Class will be held on Thursday evenings from 7pm-9pm, beginning April 15, 2010 at the Stanton campus. Call 302-454-3956 for more information or to register.
Intermediate Bicycle Maintenance & Repair
This course will cover more complicated repairs, such as hub and headset overhauls, and wheel truing. BYOB (bring your own bike). Class will be held on Thursday evenings from 7pm-9pm, beginning May 13, 2010 at the Stanton campus. Call 302-454-3956 for more information or to register.
At Home Bike Repair Lessons
Whether you want to learn bike repair on your own or with a few friends, we can accommodate private bicycle repair lessons for up to 5 people. We'll bring all of the tools, work stands, and supplies needed for your bike repair lesson to be a success.
Bicycle Repair Topics
Basic Bicycle Maintenance – Includes chain and cable maintenance and lubrication.
Fix-a-Flat – patching, tube replacement, and wheel installation
Brakes – inspection, diagnosis, and basic adjustments
Gears – learn to make basic derailleur adjustments to fix most clicking and skipping
Wheel Truing – fix your wobbly wheels
Hubs, Headsets & Bottom Brackets – adjustments and bearing care
What else do you need to know about at home bike repair lessons?
You must have an open area to conduct the session; typically in a garage, basement, shed, etc. Weather permitting, sessions can be conducted outdoors. All shop materials are provided (tools, lube, rags, etc). Additional charges for parts, if required.
Instruction rate is $60/hour. One hour minimum for individual lessons, and 1.5 hour minimum for group instruction.
